Are you someone whose parents always advise you extra caution when engaging in any relationships that can lead to pregnancy? Yet in the end no matter how many reminders and oppositions people around you say, you still go for the home run standing tall and strong. How many hearts did you break when you delivered the news that “She’s pregnant.”?
Did your parents look stunned before asking you, “Why you got her pregnant?” Did your girlfriend’s parents calmly ask you, “Why you got her pregnant?” Did you and your partner-in-crime ask the question: “Why you got her pregnant?” or “What went wrong with the preparation before the act?” Do not worry Amigo! This article is made just for you and your buddies so that in the near future, you know what to do. Here are 6 reasons why you got her pregnant. Read on and learn, my friend.
1. You used withdrawal method.
Withdrawal method, also known as Pull Out method or coitus interruptus, is an act of withdrawing or pulling the man’s sex organ out of the woman’s reproductive organ when he is about to climax. It is one of the traditional family planning methods that do not involve any use of chemicals (e.g. pills) or foreign material (e.g. condoms).
THE GOOD: It does not cost anything. For this method all you need is your manly jewels, the love tunnel where you need to enter, and the thing called TIMING. Another good thing about this method is that you and your partner will be extra religious because you will need a powerful god and strong faith. After you pull, pray. Pray hard.
THE BAD: It is not the right time to be confused between push and pull. In addition, mastering the timing of pulling out is really critical. In basketball, practice to get the timing when to shoot the ball is important but a practice during withdrawal method may not be the best idea. If you decide to practice for the right timing, you would end up creating a basketball team and your timing skills are not even near perfection.
THE VERDICT: This method is definitely not for beginners. Please do not use it if you do not last long or if you cannot control it. You can always practice control while watching adult videos. If you want still want to practice the timing, talk to your partner and discuss your plan so that both of you could find a back up method. Make sure that you come into an agreement what family planning method to use. Maybe the reason you got her pregnant is because you miss out on timing or pull, and you forgot to pray. Remember in withdrawal you have to pull and pray.
2. You did not know anything about her menstrual cycle.
When Nike said ‘Just do it’ it does not mean that you really need to just do it without preparation. Maybe you got her pregnant because you enter the battle without any protection (yes, protection like condoms) and knowledge of her fertile days. If you want to do it naturally, that is without the use of any chemicals like pills or any foreign material like condoms, all you have to do is be aware of her cycle to predict if she is fertile or not.
Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) is a collective term for natural family planning methods that uses information about the cycle (Calendar method), the temperature (Basal Body Temperature method) and the mucus (Cervical Mucus method) to predict fertility.
THE GOOD: Like withdrawal, FAM does not cost anything if done correctly. You just need to be aware of the menstrual cycle and the other tell-tale signs like a slight drop in temperature and a change in mucus. For the cycle and temperature it would be safe to ask your partner than do some calculations of your own. As for the mucus, if you intend to get on with it and you found out that the mucus secreted by her genitalia is stretchy and clear and thin, stop it. She is fertile. Well, of course it would be a pain to stop it so just make sure to use a handy dandy condom.
THE BAD: Some might find it awkward asking their partners about menstrual cycle. Plus, calculating for the safe days is a bit confusing so you need to clarify it with your partner. You might not want to go into a detailed talk about her menstrual period but make sure that you at least you get the gist when is it her safe day or not.
THE VERDICT: You need to understand the changes that tells you if she is fertile or not. It is better to ask your partner about her safe days. Both of you could calculate for the safe or unsafe days. If you want, you and your partner could read an available article about menstrual cycle found in this website. Remember knowledge is power!
3. You did not use a condom.
Condom is a barrier method simply because it works like a barrier between the sperm and the egg. Condoms do not allow seminal fluid that contains sperm to enter the woman’s genitalia. Without the meeting of the sperm and egg, no fertilization will happen.
THE GOOD: Aside from preventing pregnancy, condoms also protect you from some STDs, HIV-AIDS. It is available in different flavors at any convenience stores.
THE BAD: First, It is not the right time to forget when to put the condom. Remember: before any penetration. Second, not all men are fans of condoms. Some are allergic or maybe their partner is allergic to latex. Others might give you the reason that they do not use condoms because “it dulls the sensation”. When probe why there is less sensation, the answer is, “it is constricting their manhood”. Why do you think it is constricting? Studies show that the reason for the dull or less sensation is because the condom is not the right size. Do not buy L or XL if you know it is a size smaller. The size depends on the manufacturer. There are regular, large, snug, and slim. Choose the right size or else it might constrict you or worst, the condom might slip off somewhere down the tunnel you entered.
THE VERDICT: Maybe you got her pregnant because you put the condom a little too late? Remember that you have to put the condom BEFORE entering or penetrating your partner. Condoms are cheap. Condoms are also a symbol that shows the sense of responsibility of the guys. It shows that they are responsible enough not to put all the family planning responsibilities to their partners. Like any other family planning method, condoms if used correctly yields good results.
4. You used a condom but you did not use it properly.
THE GOOD: You did not expect such turn of events but Ahoy! You have a condom.
THE BAD: You did not use it properly. Let’s say you were drunk because you do not want to see the face of the person you will have intercourse with. You get on with it and you fumbled in your wallet to get that scratched/old/expired condom you kept for emergency use only. It must be the condom sitting in your wallet since the first time you gather courage to buy it. News Flash: This kind of battered condom can lead to pregnancy.
THE VERDICT: Condoms if damaged cannot be useful anymore. Maybe you got her pregnant because you use the condom in your wallet? Or maybe you spilled some of your sperm when you removed the condom? Or maybe you did not pinch the tip of the condom before putting it on causing it to break? Or let us go with the assumption that maybe you are so big that the condom breaks causing some sperm to spill? Make sure that you know how to put it correctly. Remember that when in doubt, you can ask your partner if she knows the correct method of putting it.
5. Your swim team is doing fabulously.
THE GOOD: The good thing about this is you are capable of creating a new life! Be glad! Be proud! Having a very good swim team is important if you want to have a baby. This swim team aka sperm are very motile. Maybe yours are just too excited to create life that they joined the seminal fluids in your pre-cum. Pre-cum or pre-ejaculatory fluid is a fluid that comes out before you ejaculate that serves as a lubricant. It could contain sperms.
THE BAD: If you penetrate without condom or before putting a condom, chances are she might get pregnant. If you use withdrawal method and your sperm is already in the pre-ejaculatory fluid, chances are she might get pregnant. Weigh the odds.
THE VERDICT: Some are lucky that they do not release pre-ejaculatory fluid. These people need not to worry. On the other hand if you are fated to have pre-ejaculatory fluid, please use back up methods. Discuss it with your partner.
6. Other Factors.
If you did not commit any of the possible mistakes given, if you did not use withdrawal method, if you know it is her safe day, if you used a condom correctly, and you do not have any pre-ejaculatory fluid, then the following will be my expert opinion why you got her pregnant:
b. Someone pricked the condom. Bigbang, a Korean pop band, pricked all the condoms on a convenience store. After some time they check the area and the birth rate increased significantly. Check the condom you buy, you never know…
c. Someone else did it. Hate to break it to you bro, but if you are so darn sure that you are not at fault here then maybe someone else is. But do not confront your girlfriend with this kind of reason. Do you want your lives to be like a drama? Do not be a bastard. Be tactful. Please.
These reasons are collected from different people. Now the reasons are here not to create havoc or for you to blame yourself or your girlfriend or the innocent condoms or the other contraceptive methods. These reasons are stated for you to see the area where you need improvement so that in the near future you know how to avoid unwanted pregnancies. Bear in mind that unwanted pregnancy is not a curse. Just think that maybe you are also an ACCIDENT but your mom and your dad took the full RESPONSIBILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY to raise you properly. You should also do the same. Do not abort. I repeat do not Abort! Unwanted pregnancies could lead to a string of problems like increased Abortion and increased Maternity and Infant deaths. Be a responsible citizen and do not add to the problem of the society.
Keep in mind that you have to be considerate of your partner. Make sure you discuss the methods and agree on what to do. Do not just push her to have a contraceptive just because you do not like to use condoms. Remember that HIV is rampant nowadays and HIV does not have any cure. Instead of contracting a disease it is better to have protection! Prevention is better than cure.
Dear Readers unwanted pregnancies could lead to more pressing problems such as poverty, abuse, neglect, abortion, and increasing maternal and infant mortality rate. Let us be responsible and together let us reach the goal of decreasing IMR and MMR.
