Health Tips to Stop Beginning Asthma

Cough and colds in the morning hours are usually from allergy. This usually happens when the trigger factors are inside the room. If the coughing is very prominent, this may be a sign of hyper reactive airways or beginning asthma. Experts noted that asthma is triggered in the middle of the night or in the early hours of the morning because the low oxygen level in the lungs at this time. Bronchial asthma is a recurrent constriction of the lung airways, with accompanying mucus production and inflammation. If the asthma is not well controlled, there will be permanent damage to the airways.

Be aware of extrinsic and intrinsic asthma

Asthma that results from sensitivity to specific external allergens is known as extrinsic. In cases in which the allergen isn’t obvious, asthma is referred to as intrinsic. Extrinsic (atopic) asthma usually begins in childhood and is accompanied by other manifestations of atopy such as eczema and allergic rhinitis. In intrinsic (nonatopic) asthma, no extrinsic allergen can be identified. Most cases are preceded by a severe respiratory tract infection. Irritants, emotional stress, fatigue, exposure to noxious fumes, temperature and humidity changes may aggravate intrinsic asthma attacks. In many asthmatics, intrinsic and extrinsic asthma coexist.

In view of the fact that you have read the allergens that may cause an asthma attack, it’s time to share with you the following health tips in order to stop beginning asthma. Since allergy is highly considered, removal of the trigger factors in the environment must be done. Remove sources of allergies such as house dust mites especially in the bedroom, animal hairs from pets, carpets and kapok or feather pillows. Remove heavy curtains, stuffed toys and moldy objects in the house.

HOUSE DUST CONTROL MEASURES

  • Keep the room of the allergy sufferer dust-free
  • Encase mattresses and pillows with soft plastic or use washable foams
  • Wash bed linens weekly in hot water
  • Remove stuffed toys or any dust collecting playthings
  • Do not store items under the beds
  • Keep furry pets away from the house
  • Remove rugs and carpets
  • Use damp cloth or damp mop after sweeping or vacuuming
  • Eliminate sources of molds and mildews
  • The allergy sufferer should be out of the house during cleaning
